TEXTures: words create surfaces
Believe it or not, there's actually a lot to be learned from surfing the web. If you're interested in that sort of thing, here's a list of informational, educational and/or enlightening worth taking the time to read. If you're looking for entertaining websites more suited to idle browsing, you'll want to check out my page of casual websites.

ACLU

The American Civil Liberties Union has a comprehensive website which explains the views of the organization and provides a wealth of information on civil liberties news.

Adbusters
Adbusters focuses on the negative effects of commercialism in today's culture, with a sense of humor and some unique perspectives on advertising and censorship.

Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance
This group compiles essays on religions and religious topics. Though not all the information is perfectly accurate, the comprehensiveness leaves little to be desired.

0411.78 ezine
If you're looking for young urban writing, look no further than the ezine put together by myself and my best friend Craig. We accept and publish a lot of unique submissions, some of which are superb.

Center for a New American Dream
Similar to Adbusters but with a concern for a much broader base of issues underlying materialism, this site has a wealth of information on what's wrong with today's world.

Common Errors in English
Though no grammarian, I must admit I find myself irritated by certain mistakes which bespeak either carelessness or ignorance. If only people would spend a few minutes here.

Apple Computer
They tried beating the Wintel with superior technology. It didn't work. Now they're trying with cheap gimmicks. And you know what? It's working. A bit.

C|Net
The front door to a slew of different sites, domains and columns about everything in the computer world, from news to reviews to software to commentary.

Arts & Letters Daily
A huge portal to news, views and reviews that's so thorough it'd make a Liberal Arts and Sciences major want to learn how to use a computer.

3Com's PalmPilot
Though my Palm is currenly out of commission (long story), I love the thing. Palm culture is like that of the early days of the Mac: well- made product, rabid fans.

Keirsey Temperament Sorter
The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is the only pop-psychology catergorization I've found to be accurate, reliable and helpful. Take the test, learn your type. I'm INTP.

The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement
Okay, so I think what you're looking at here is a bunch of people rationalizing their inability to get dates. Regardless, it's a fascinating read.
