Super Bowl XLII

OK, so here it is, the big game. The spread moved around a bit but seems to have settled:

New Jersey Giants vs. New England Patriots(-12)
Yet another double-digit spread for the Pats. It’s been a long time since they’ve covered one of these, and their previous Super Bowls were all close ones as well. I’m taking the points.

  1. Over the history of the Super Bowl, the spread has been 12.5. Certainly the Pats are better than average? It feels a lot safer to take the points though, so I’ll do that.

    Go Giants!

  2. Wowow! What a game! Who would’ve thunk it? Brady on his ass for the first 3 quarters and then when the Giants D runs out of gas, Manning has it in ’em score twice in the fourth. Crazy!

Strahan XL home blue, please! 🙂

  3. Truly an excellent game. you really had to feel like the Pats were going to win it with that drive that Brady took them on in the 4th, it seemed so much like how they’ve won important games in the past.

And that play everyone is talking about, the evading the sack and Tyree catching it on his head? Truly amazing; absolutely the play of the season given the context.

I have to say, I really wanted the Pats to win just to get Mercury Morris and the rest of the Dolphins to shut the eff up. However, I’m happy that Amani Toomer will get a ring. He didn’t have the best Super Bowl, but he was great in the rest of the playoffs, especially considering he’s 73 years old.

    Quite a season…
